Beloved Mother, Grandmother, and Great Grandmother
LOWELL Yvette M. (Giroux) Isabelle, 86, of Lowell, died after a brief illness July 22, 2011 at Town and Country Nursing Home. She was the wife of the late Louis G. Isabelle who passed away in 1974.
Born February 18, 1925, in Lowell, she was a daughter of the late David Giroux, and the late Yvonne (Giguere) Giroux, both of whom passed away when Yvette was young. She was then raised by her aunt, Josephine Plamondon. She attended the local schools including St. Joseph's School and later the Lowell Girls Vocational School.
She resided in Lowell, and was a communicant of the former Sacred Heart Church. She worked for various companies before her retirement including the Lowell Mills, Parish Shoe Company, Symphonics, and later for Cleghorn Industries. She was formerly an active member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Walker Rogers Post 662 and a member of the Shrine of St. Jude. She enjoyed baby-sitting, watching television, and reading.
She is survived by five children, Rita R. Proulx and her husband, Daniel of Florida, Donald L. Isabelle and his wife, Nadine of Manchester, NH, Gloria L. Lemire of Lowell, Gabrielle Isabelle and her husband, Bruce Lamper of Pembrook, NH, and Gerald R. Isabelle of Hampstead, NH. She is also survived by fifteen grandchildren and thirty-one great grandchildren; two nieces and two nephews; and her close friend Louise Lemire of Lowell.
She was also the mother of the late Dorothy Isabelle and the late Linda Isabelle; grandmother of the late Jessie Schaefer; and mother in law of the late Andre Lemire.
