LOWELL William F. 'Billy' Murphy, 68, of Lowell, died peacefully after a short illness Friday, October 7, 2011 in Tewksbury.
Born June 15, 1943, in Lowell, he was a son of the late Edward F. and the late Alice L. (Lantagne) Murphy, attended Sacred Heart Grammar School and graduated from Chelmsford High School.
Billy grew up in East Chelmsford before residing in Lowell, he was a communicant of the former Sacred Heart Church, and was a member of the Gaelic Club in Lowell. He was employed at Sullivan Brother Printers for over 35 Years. He was an avid game show enthusiast and an avid Patriots fan.
He is survived by two daughters, Bridget Hanna and her husband, Wendell of Lowell, and Tara Nicolakakis and her husband, Louie of Andover; two sisters, Pauline M. Murphy of Westfield, and Francine X. Ullom and her husband, John E. of Chelmsford; eight grandchildren, Joseph and Kaila Lee of Lowell, Brendan Lee PFC U.S. Army stationed in Fort Carson, CO, Aidan and Delia Hanna of Lowell, and George, Jacob, and William Nicolakakis of Andover; one great grandson, Luke Lee of Lowell. Also surviving Billy is his former wife Adeline J. (O'Toole) Murphy who was the love of his life, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was also the brother of the late Edward W. Murphy and Elizabeth A. 'Bettie' Murphy.
