Walter D. Fawcett
Beloved Son, Brother, Uncle, and Cousin
LOWELL Walter D. Fawcett, 62, of Lowell, died after a brief illness Saturday, August 4, 2012 at Lowell General Hospital Saints Campus.
Born June 7, 1950, in Lowell, he was a son of Alfreda (Direnska) Fawcett of Lowell, and the late Robert F. Fawcett. He attended the local schools, and graduated from Keith Academy with the class of 1968, before moving onto UMass Amherst.
Mr. Fawcett served with the Massachusetts Army National Guard for six years in the 1/26 Cavalry Regiment.
He resided in Lowell his entire life, and was a communicant of St. Margaret's Church He was employed as a technician for twenty five years for Digital Corporation. Walter enjoyed reading, deep sea fishing, gardening, cooking, and going to the movies every Tuesday with his friend Phil. He was also a member of the Lowell Sportsman Club
In addition to his mother, Alfreda, he is survived by his brothers, Alexander M. Fawcett and his wife, Eileen of Dracut, and Dr. Paul T. Fawcett and his fiance, Susan Vavala of Northeast, MD; his sister, Roberta F. Jones and her husband, Carl of Greenville, DE; his nieces and nephews, Daniel Fawcett and his wife, Shealeigh of Santa Barbara, CA, Christopher Fawcett of Santa Barbara, CA, Meghan Fawcett of Dracut, Michaela Fawcett of Dracut, Robert Fawcett of Northeat, MD, and Katie Fawcett of Rising Sun, MD; a great nephew and a great niece Colton and Ila Fawcett of Santa Barbara, CA; and many cousins.
YOU ARE INVITED TO HIS CALLING HOURS FROM 4 UNTIL 8 P.M. ON TUESDAY, AUGUST 7. ON WEDNESDAY, HIS FUNERAL WILL BEGIN AT 8:30 A.M. AT THE MCDONOUGH FUNERAL HOME, 14 HIGHLAND STREET, LOWELL (978 OR 800) 458-6816. HIS FUNERAL MASS WILL BE OFFERED AT ST. MARGARET'S PARISH, 374 STEVENS STREET, LOWELL AT 9:30 A.M.. BURIAL IN ST.
