Vitor Gabriel Medina
HUDSON NH Vitor Gabriel Medina, 64, of Hudson, New Hampshire, formerly of Lowell, died unexpectedly after a brief illness, Wednesday, October 23, 2013. He was the beloved husband of Maria Guadalupe Picanco DaSilva Medina with whom he celebrated their Thirty Ninth Wedding Anniversary this past September.
Born June 15, 1949, in Graciosa, Azores, Portugal, he was a son of the late Manuel S. Medina and the late Francelina T. (DaSilva) Medina, and was educated in Graciosa. In 1972, he came to the United States, settling in Lowell. In 1974 he returned to Graciosa where he married Maria, and they returned to Lowell to raise a family, and where he made his home until moving to Hudson, New Hampshire twenty seven years ago.
A communicant of St. Anthony’s Church, he enjoyed his family, fishing, barbecueing, gardening, and playing cards. He currently worked in maintenance for BJ’s Wholesale Club, and had worked for Walmart, D'Youville Manor, Joan Fabrics, Wang Laboratories, the Bootte Mills, and Interstate Container when he came to the United States.
In addition to his wife, Maria, he is survived by his sons, Joao Medina and his wife, Lauren, of Methuen, and Nelson Medina of Londonderry, NH; his brothers, Virgilio Medina and his wife, Maria Fatima, of Lowell, Jose Medina and his wife, Fernanda, of Lowell, and Rui Medina of Lowell; many nieces and nephews; and he was the proud expectant grandfather to his first grandchild.
He was also the father of the late Carol Patricia Medina who passed away in 1981.
