Vito P. Yannece
Devoted Family Man
LOWELL Vito P. Yannece, 85, of Lowell, died Friday, September 13, 2013, at Lowell General Hospital after a brief illness. He was the widower of the late Esterina (Alessandrini)(Fawcett) Yannece who passed away in 2005.
Born December 4, 1927, in Lowell, he was a son of the late Nicholas and the late Mary (Ruggiero) Yannece, and was educated in the local schools.
Mr. Yannece served with the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. Returning to Lowell after his honorable discharge, he made his home in the Pawtucketville Section of the City, and was a communicant of St. Rita’s Church, where he was actively participated in many Parish activities.
Vito loved to play cards every Saturday night with his friends, and was very active in the Lowell and Chelmsford Senior Centers. He was a member of the Chelmsford Lodge of Elks B.P.O. E. # 2310 as well as the Lowell Lodge Elks B.P.O.E. # 87. Very devoted to his family and friends, he loved to travel with his family as well.
He worked for Stop and Shop for many years, retiring as the Dairy Manager.
He is survived by his brother, Anthony J. Yannece of Chelmsford and his sister, Angelina P. Kaczmarski of Lowell; his step-children, John Fawcett and his wife, Ann, of Maine, Elaine Monty of Salem, NH, and David Fawcett and his wife, Cindy, of Billerica; his nieces, Dr. Mary Ann Kaczmarski and her husband, Jerry Freeman, of Los Angeles, CA, Phyllis Kaczmarski and her companion, Michael Jackson, of Olympia, WA, and Karen Kaczmarski of Lowell; ten step grandchildren, Kimberly, Michelle, Todd, Jennifer, Jay, Kevin, Joey, Amy, Liz, Dan, and nine great step grandchildren, two step daughters in law, Claire Fawcett, of Florida, and Jacquiline Fawcett, of New Hampshire; and many friends especially those in the poker group.
He was also a brother in law of the late John P. Kaczmarski, the late Fleurette Dubois Yannece, and brother of the late Philomena Yannece; and step father of the late Francis X. Fawcett and the late Patrick M. Fawcett, and step father in law of the late Don Monte.
