Virginia E. 'Ginnie' (MacPhail) Kelly
Beloved Wife, Mother, Grandmother
LOWELL Virginia E. 'Ginnie' (MacPhail) Kelly, 65, of Lowell, died at her home, after a courageous two and a half year battle with cancer, Saturday, October 26, 2013 on her 44th wedding anniversary. She was the wife of Francis P. Kelly Sr. who took care of her throughout her illness.
Born November 27, 1947 in Medford and she was a daughter of the late John E. MacPhail and the late Mary L. (Finn) MacPhail. She was educated in Billerica and was a graduate of Billerica High School with the Class of 1966.
She resided in the Highlands and was a communicant of St. Margaret Parish. She was employed as a cashier at the former Skip's Restaurant in Chelmsford for many years. Ginnie enjoyed cooking, camping, and spending time with her family, friends and especially her grandsons. She also loved hosting family dinners and the holidays. Above all she strived to make others happy, always putting others first.
In addition to her beloved husband, Francis, she is survived by two sons, Francis P. Kelly Jr. and his wife, Tracy of Lowell, and Christopher E. Kelly and his wife, Laulita of Dracut; two grandchildren, Francis P. Kelly III and James M. Kelly both of Lowell; her siblings, Marie Roy of Whitman, J. Edward MacPhail and his wife, Joyce of Burlington, Kenneth J. MacPhail and his wife, Patricia of Dracut, Donald R. MacPhail of Reno, NV, and Carol J. Mixon and her husband, Stephen of Billerica; and several nieces and nephews.
She was also the sister of the late Barbara Schramm, Edna Sennet, and Georgianna Mikol.
