Vincent J. Rutt
World War II Navy Veteran
LOWELL Vincent J. Rutt, of Lowell, died October 28, 2010 at the age 96. A son of the late Alexander Rutkauskas and Helena (Zaleski) Rutkauskas, he was born January 5, 1914, in Gardner, Massachusetts, and was married to the late Alice (Gott) Rutt.
He was a World War II Navy veteran attached to the First Marine Division. He wore the Navy and Marine Corps uniform receiving the Asiatic-Pacific Ribbon, Good Conduct Medal, Presidential Citation, Bronze Star and World War II Victory Medal.
A resident of Father Norton Manor on High Street in Lowell, he enjoyed following his favorite sports teams, antiquing, reading, and he always enjoyed taking part in senior activities. He was also a lover of animals.
With the help of his late wife, Alice, Vincent's biggest achievement and proudest accomplishment was raising his nephews, Robert Rutkauskas and the late Joseph Rutkauskas.
A private memorial was held in October at the McDonough Funeral Home.
