Loving wife, mother, and grandmother
LOWELL Valentina Borges (Feliciano) Sousa, 74, of Chelmsford, died Monday, June 13, 2011 at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston after a brief illness. She was the loving wife of the late Manuel C. Sousa who passed away in 1997 after forty two years of marriage.
Born February 11, 1937, in Terciera, Azores, Portugal, she was a daughter of the late Manuel, and the late Maria (Borges) Feliciano. She was raised and educated in the Azores before coming to the United States in 1960
She resided in Chelmsford, and was a communicant of St. John the Evangelist Church. Her favorite pastimes were spending as much time as she could with her granddaughters, going to the beach in Maine, cooking, and spending time with her grandpuppies, Cali, Wasabi, Lucky, and Lily.
She is survived by her son, Robert Sousa and his significant other, Maria Azevedo; two granddaughters, Michelle Sousa and Rebecca Sousa; her brother, Manuel Feliciano of the Azores; and her very dear friend, Jan Gilbride.
She was also the mother of the late Glenn Sousa.
