‘Pepsi Tom’
SALISBURY Thomas W. Higgins, 69, of Salisbury, passed away at Woodbriar Health Center in Wilmington after a brief illness on April 24, 2017, surrounded by his family.
Born March 12, 1948, in where, he was a son of the late Thomas F. and the late Mary (Kelleher) Higgins, and grew up in Lowell and was educated in the area.
Throughout his life, Tom worked in various trades, mastering knowledge of just about everything. For years he worked for the Commonwealth as a plow driver before working for the McDonough Funeral Home as a funeral assistant as well as an all around handy man and he took great pride in the flower gardens he put together for the funeral home as well as his carpentry projects. He enjoyed his work as a funeral escort for many years, and especially enjoying traveling throughout the East Coast to various cemeteries including many of the State and National Veterans Cemeteries.
Tom had many loves and its hard to pick which one would be number one as he loved being at the Beach with all his friends and playing pool but he had an unending love for Country Music, especially T. Graham Brown and Willie Nelson. He traveled to Nashville several times and was at home as long as Country Music was playing, and he wasn’t shy about singing and humming along.
His survivors include his daughter, Mandy Ayotte and her husband, Ryan, of Dracut; his son, Scott Williamson and his wife, Jodie, of Dracut; his four grandchildren, Bryan Tibetts, Kendra Halamoutis, Hannah Williamson, and Nicolas Ayotte; his nephews, Peter Goyette, Daniel Hawkins, Larry Hawkins, and Michael Hawkins; and the many friends he made throughout his short lifetime.
He was predeceased by his two sisters, Theresa ‘Dolly’ Kelleher Goyette and Julie Higgins Hawkins, and his nephew and best friend, Michael Goyette.

HIS FUNERAL SERVICE WILL BE HELD PRIVATELY. BURIAL IN ST. PATRICK CEMETERY.
