Thaddeus T. 'Teddy' Shirley
Beloved Husband and Father
LOWELL Thaddeus T. 'Teddy' Shirley, 48, of Lowell, died unexpectedly, Saturday, September 28, 2013 at Lowell General Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Patricia 'Patty' M. Shirley with whom he celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary last February.
He was a son of the late F.L. Shirley and the late Dolores (Gomes) Shirley, born August 17, 1965 in Lowell, where he grew up and attended the local schools.
He was a lifelong Lowell resident and was employed as a Taxi Driver in Lowell for over twenty years, originally starting out for J&N Taxi, but more recently for Yellow Taxi. Teddy loved and was a big fan of football and music, especially Elvis. He was also a former member of the Hynes Tavern Pool League. Above all, he especially enjoyed spending time with his family.
In addition to his wife, Patty, he is survived by his two children, Chad Shirley of Lowell and Tracy Hayward and her husband, Justin of Dracut, to whom he was a proud expectant grandfather of his first grandchild. He is also survived by his eight siblings, Patricia and her husband Roland, Mary, Frannie, Donna, AnnMarie, Carol, Wayne, and Manny; his god daughter, Samantha Azevedo; his godson, Jonathan Luna; and many nieces and nephews, as well as many dear and close friends.
He was also the brother of the late Frank Shirley and the late Kathleen Briere.
