Shane M. Bonnell

"Beloved Son and Friend"

LOWELL        Shane M. Bonnell, 32, of Lowell, passed away suddenly at home, Sunday, January 14, 2018.   He was the beloved son of Edward and Tami (Graham) Bonnell of Pepperell.  

      Born March 9, 1985, in Winchester, he grew up in the Lowell area, and graduated from the Greater Lowell Technical High School, and was currently enrolled in Endicott College.

      Shane enlisted and served with the United States Army from 2009 until 2012, and was trained in the Special Forces before his honorable discharge to the U. S. Army Reserves. He received the Expert Marksman Medal, Army Good Conduct Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, the Non Commissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbon, the Army Service Ribbon, as well as the Parachutist Badge.

       He made his home in Lowell, and volunteered helping animals, the homeless, and his fellow Veterans. He was a 2nd degree Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do, and had visited Thailand where he trained and competed in Muay Thai Kickboxing, winning his first and only professional fight.  He worked in the construction field throughout the area for the past year.  He formerly worked for the Department of Youth Services in Lowell, and for the Lighthouse School in Chelmsford.

      He is survived by his parents, Edward and Tami, his brother, William E. Bonnell of Clearwater, FL; his sister, Maegan D. Carrasquillo and her husband, Joshua, of Pepperell; his nieces and nephews, Enzo Bonnell, Sean Bonnell, and Esme Carrasquillo; and several aunts, uncles, and lifelong friends

           ON FRIDAY, JANUARY 19, YOU ARE INVITED TO HIS VISITATION FROM 3 UNTIL 7 P.M. AT THE MCDONOUGH FUNERAL HOME, 14 HIGHLAND STREET, LOWELL 978-458-6816. 

MILITARY HONORS WILL BE PERFORMED FRIDAY AT 7 P.M. AT THE CONCLUSION OF THE VISITATION.
