Scott Patrick Callanan

CLINTON - Scott Patrick Callanan, “Scotty”, 48 of Tewksbury, passed away February 23, 2011. He is survived by his four children, Michael and his wife Kerry (Roberson) of Lowell, Jim and his wife Kitty (Saini) of Chelmsford, Erin and Chelsea of Tewksbury, his father Paul and step-mother Pat, siblings, Jimmy of ME, Bobby and his wife Robyn (Harfield) of Winthrop, Paula of Georgetown, Patty and her husband Bill Watson of Westford, and Brian of Littleton. Also survived by his grandson, Noah, his former wife, Eileen (DuHamel) Callanan of Tewksbury and several beloved nieces and nephews. His mother Mary Lou (Kelley) predeceased him. Scott grew up in Tewksbury, MA, started his own construction business and began raising his family until that ill-fated day, December 4, 1989 when the scaffolding he was working on collapsed and he fell 30 feet onto concrete and suffered a traumatic brain injury. For the next 21 years, he fought with intense determination to overcome the everyday challenges of living with a traumatic brain injury until he succumbed to pneumonia. Those who knew him will remember his witty sense of humor, charm, and his fierce drive to remain independent, despite the challenges of being a traumatic brain injury survivor. He will be greatly missed. Services were private. Donations in Scotty’s memory may be made to the group home that took such incredible care of him, BAMSI, 11 Larkin Road, Berlin, MA 01503. Arrangements by the MCDONOUGH FUNERAL HOME, 14 HIGHLAND STREET, LOWELL, MA 01852. Please send the family an E-Condolence at McDonoughFuneralHome.com at any time.
