Ruth Sullivan


LOWELL Ruth Sullivan, 85, a lifelong resident of Lowell, passed away Thursday, February 18, 2016 at Tufts Medical Center in Boston after complications from a fall earlier this month. She was the wife of the late Charles Sullivan who passed away in 1960
Ruth was born on March 22, 1930 in Lawrence and was a daughter of the late Alphonse DeZazzo and the late Maryanna (Teoli) DeZazzo. She was raised and educated in Lawrence, before briefly residing in California, and eventually settling in Lowell in the early 1960’s. She resided in the Highlands and Centralville sections of Lowell before residing Downtown, where she lived with her beloved son, Brian, whom she resided with for the past 56 years.
Ruth could be found at the Lowell Senior Center daily and loved spending time with everyone there. Ruth along with her son, Brian were avid fans of the Lowell Spinners and held season tickets since their very first season. She enjoyed shopping, especially at Market Basket, loved walking, and was an active member in the community. Ruth was never afraid to speak her mind and will be missed very dearly.
She was employed as a Circuit Inspector for Symphonic and also worked in the Lawrence Mills, QSC Industries in Billerica, MCF Industries in Lowell before her retirement in 1992.
Ruth is survived by her son, Brian Sullivan of Lowell; five nephews, Robert, James, William, and John DeZazzo and David Husson; and several grand nieces and grand nephews.
She was also sister of the late Mildred "Minnie" Khoury, Michael DeZazzo, Rose Husson, Rebecca Cloonan, Lydia DeZazzo, and Ida Triandafellow


ON, TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 23, YOU ARE INVITED TO HER CALLING HOURS FROM 10 A.M. UNTIL 12 NOON AT THE MCDONOUGH FUNERAL HOME, 14 HIGHLAND STREET, LOWELL 978-458-6816.

 

A PROCESSION WILL FOLLOW FOR BURIAL AT WESTLAWN II CEMETERY.
