Ruth L. DeMone
LOWELL Ruth L. DeMone of Lowell, formerly of Peabody and Somerville left this life of 72 years on Thursday, September 27, 2018. Daughter of the late Harold J. and the late Gladys M. DeMone of Somerville.
Ruth grew up in Somerville, retired from Harvard University after a long career and was an avid board game and cribbage player. Her passion was singing. She sang in the Brooksby Village Protestant Church Choir and was also a member of Trinity Covenant Church in Lexington.
Ruth was also on the board as an incorporator of Kurn Hattin Home for Children in Vermont and a past royal matron of Guy Andrews Hamm Court #6 order of the Amaranth. Ruth has the gift of making friends wherever she met people and always had a happy disposition. She is survived by her sister, Kathleen DeMone Cormier and her husband, Paul Cormier; her nephew, Alex Cormier and his wife, Shiori Cormier; her niece, Elizabeth Cormier; her great nieces, Emma and Leah Cormier and Marilyn Moore along with many cousins. Ruth was the loving aunt of the late Garret Cormier.
