Rosemarie Tavares
LOWELL Rosemarie Tavares, 84, of Lowell, died Friday, March 28, 2014, at Genesis Westford House after a brief illness. She was the widow of the late John J. Tavares who died in 2009.
A daughter of the Dr. Patrick J. Meehan and the late Veronica B. (Rediker) Meehan, she was born June 24, 1929, in Lowell,and attended St. Peter’s Parochial School, graduated from Lowell High School, and attended Von Ladow School of Art and Design in Boston.
A lifelong Lowell resident, she made her home in the Belvidere Section of the City, and was a communicant of Immaculate Conception Church. Rosemarie had a positive attitude towards life, and enjoyed volunteering her time for several local organizations. She was also part of a prayer group at Immculate Conception Church.
Rosemarie worked for the Lowell Public Library as a librarian for more than fifteen years.
She is survived by her sister, Jane C. Thomas of Hudson, NH; and her nieces and nephews.
