LOWELL Rose Ann (Machado) Lorenzo, 84, a lifelong Lowell resident, passed away Monday, November 21, 2016, at Genesis Westford House after a period of declining health. She was the beloved wife of Frank Lorenzo with whom she had shared Sixty Three years of Marriage.
A daughter of the late Manuel and the late Bertha (Vieira) Machado, she was born May 19, 1932, in Lowell, and educated in the local schools, graduating from Lowell High School.
After High School, she was employed at Courier Citizen, eventually leaving to raise her five children. She later returned to the workforce as a cafeteria worker in the Lowell School system, and later became the Supervisor in the cafeteria at the Greater Lowell Vocational School until her retirement.
Rose enjoyed time spent with family and also enjoyed planning and hosting Holiday parties. In addition, she enjoyed crossword puzzles, old movies, and trips with her husband to Salisbury, Seabrook and Hampton Beaches as well as trips to their trailer in Meredith, New Hampshire.
In addition to her husband, Francis W. Lorenzo of Lowell, she is survived by her children, Francis M. Lorenzo and his companion, Gayle Pulsifer, of Lowell, Michael Lorenzo and his companion, Lisa DiMattia, of Salisbury, Susan (Lorenzo) Albrecht of Dracut, Kathy Lorenzo and her companion Kevin Sullivan of Lowell, and Gina (Lorenzo) Verbickas and her husband, Dale, of New Hartford, NY her ten grandchildren and five great grandchildren, Michael Lorenzo and his wife, Beth, and their children, Jake and Taylor, of Oceanside, CA, Matthew Albrecht and his wife, Emily and their children, Lucy and Oliver, of Dracut, Amy (Albrecht) Dickey and her husband, Keith, and their son, Malcolm, of Portland, OR, Beth, Tori, Bobby, and Ally Anderson of Lowell, and Eric, Brian, and Alex Verbickas of New Hartford, NY; her siblings, Roselyn Machado and her companion, John McGrath, of Lowell, Virginia (Machado) Coviello and her husband, Anthony, of Tewksbury, and Dorothy (Machado) Brown and her husband, Herb, of Warwick, RI; her brothers in law, Victor Sousa and Stanley Fretias; her sister in law, Delores (DeFreitas) Machado; as well as her many nieces, nephews, and friends.
She was also predeceased by her son in law, Jack Albrecht, her daughter in law, Brenda (Durant) Lorenzo, her sister, Mary (Machado) Sousa, her brothers, John Machado, Joseph Machado, and Edward Machado, and her sisters in law, Jeanne (Lorenzo) Freitas, Eleanor (Lorenzo) Halpin, and Teresa (McNamara) Machado.
