Robert M. Knox
LOWELL Robert M. Knox, 79, a lifelong Lowell resident, died Monday, June 2, at Lowell General Hospital after a brief illness.
A son of the late Frederick and the late Mary Ellen L. (Bell) Knox, he was born March 3, 1929, in Lowell, and educated in the local schools.
Mr. Knox made his home in the Highlands Section of the City and enjoyed spending time at the Highland Tap and Captain Johns. More recently he resided on Merrimack Street, and had been employed with the City of Lowell, Parks Department in maintenance for more than thirty years before his retirement.
He is survived by a daughter, Deborah, and a son, Greg, as well as many nieces and nephews, including Mary Ellen Garneau and her husband, Paul, of Lowell, and grand nieces and grand nephews, including, Kathleen Smart and her husband, Robert, of Lowell. He was also the father of the late Robert MacGregor Knox, and brother of the late Frederick W. Knox, the late Herbert Knox and the late Catherine Kirane.
