Robert L. “Guru” Renaud
LOWELL Robert L. “Guru” Renaud, 77, a lifelong Lowell resident, died Sunday, Aug. 17, 2008, at Lowell Health Care Center after a long illness. He was the widower of the late Catherine A. (Nolan) Renaud who died in 1986.
Born June 21, 1931, in Lowell, he was a son of the late Louis and the late Yvonne (Dube) Renaud, and was educated in the local schools.
Mr. Renaud served with the United States Army during the Korean War.
He was an award winning poet, an avid outdoorsman, and enjoyed playing cribbage. He was a devoted Red Sox and New England Patriots fan, and most of all loved spending time with his family. He was employed as a Construction Worker for twenty years, and has also worked for Pandel Industries for a few years before disability forced his retirement.
He is survived by four children, Roger Renaud of Lowell, Michael Renaud of Lowell, Rodney Renaud and his wife, Christine, of Lowell, and Catherine Renaud and her husband, Robert Royal, of Lowell; eleven grandchildren,
Michael Royal and his wife, Sharon, of Litchfield, NH, Kim Renaud-Couture and her husband, Derek, of Lowell, John Royal of Lowell, Katlynn Royal of Lowell, Erin Royal of Lowell, Woody Bubanas of Lowell, Eileen Bubanas and her husband, Lance, of Lowell, Brian Bubanas of Boston, Adam Renaud of Lowell, and James Renaud of Lowell and Justin Renaud of Lowell; seven great grandchildren, Felecia, Alyssa, and Makayla Royal, Derek and Devin Couture, Mariah Marrero and Tyler Bubanas; a brother, Pete Renaud of Florida; three sisters, Marguerite Beland of Derry, NH, Rita Joyce and her husband, John, of Florida, and Jeannette Bjorkman and her husband, Robert, of Dracut; and many nieces and nephews.
He was also the father of the late Robert Renaud and the late Maryann Bubanas-Benson and brother of the late Maurice Renaud, the late Marcelle Bedard, and the late Gertrude Bedard, he was also the brother in law of the late Roger Beland.
