Rita V. Freitas
CHELMSFORD Rita V. Freitas, 86, of Chelmsford, died Friday, July 11, 2014, at the Palm Center after a brief illness. She was a daughter of the late Luis and the late Rita C. (DaSilva) Freitas.
Born October 23, 1927, in Lowell, she was raised and educated in the Lowell Schools graduating from Lowell High School. A Lowell resident until thirty years ago when she moved to North Chelmsford, she was a communicant of St. Anthony’s Church, and was a former member of the Holy Rosary Sodality.
Rita was a gifted seamstress and worked in the Lowell area for many years in the Garment Industry before working for Raytheon in South Lowell for over twenty years before her retirement. She enjoyed time spent with her family as well as quilting and bowling, and was a member of the North Chelmsford Senior Center for over twenty years.
She is survived by many nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews including Al Aguiar, Joe Aguiar, Priscilla Hilliard, Louis Aguiar, and Claudia Miller and her husband, Harry Miller.
She was also a sister of the late Mary Aguiar and the late Joseph DeFreitas.
