Rita Agnes Barsamian
LOWELL Rita Agnes (Breault) Barsamian, 83, a lifelong Lowell resident, died Thursday, May 14, 2009, at Willow Manor Genesis Eldercare after a long illness. She was the widow of the late Barsam Barsamian who died in 2004.
A daughter of the late George and the late Margaret (Hastey) Breault, she was born November 16, 1925, in Lowell and attended the local schools and Lowell High School.
She made her lifelong home in Lowell and with her husband, owned and operated General Dry Cleaners for over forty years. She then worked as a Matron with the City of Lowell School Department for eleven years before retiring. Her hobbies included crocheting, knitting, collecting dolls, cooking and especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her son, Albert G. Barsamian and his wife, Linda, of Townsend; a daughter, Cynthia M. Foster and her husband, Michael, of Townsend; six grandchildren, Tracy Ventola and her husband, Robert, of Sharon, Nicole Barsamian of Cambridge, Jennifer Barsamian of Jamaica Plain, Melissa Barsamian of Brooklyn, NY, Shaun Foster and his wife, Rachel, of Somerville, and Todd Foster of Townsend; two great granddaughters, Keira Ventola of Sharon and Melanie Foster of Somerville; her sister, Margaret Sarault of Lowell; and several nieces and nephews.
She was also the mother in law of the late Arlene (Tracy) Barsamian, grandmother of the late Amy Lynne Foster, and sister of the late Georgeanna Gearin, the late Marie Louise Taylor, the late Sarah Lowe, and the late George Breault.
