LOWELL Richard J. "Rick" Nagle, 83, of Lowell, died unexpectedly, November 6, 2010 at Mass General Hospital. He was the husband of Mary F. (Mulcahy) Nagle for 58 years.
Born December 14, 1926, in Lowell, he was a son of the late Richard W., and the late Alice (Gilroy) Nagle. He was educated in Lowell. In 1944, Mr. Nagle joined the United States Navy, serving during World War II. He greatly enjoyed anything that had to do with the outdoors, often he could be found walking around Fort Hill, he also enjoyed hiking, camping, fishing, and ice fishing.
He resided in South Lowell, and was a communicant of Holy Family Parish. He worked in the greater Lowell area for many years as an independent general contractor.
Besides his wife, Mary, he is survived by his four children, Richard D. and his wife, Janice L. Nagle of Chelmsford, Michael J. Nagle and his life companion, Kevin D. Bennett of Jaffrey, NH, Nancy A. and her husband, William C. Vieira of Lowell, and David J. Nagle of New Boston, NH; three grandchildren, Johanna and Christina Nagle and Charles Vieira; a sister, Mary Lloyd of Dracut; two brothers, Robert T. and his wife, Eleanor Nagle of Maine, and Joseph T. Nagle of Hyannis. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends.
He was also the brother of the late William F. Nagle and Raymond M. Nagle.
