Richard G. Farmer
LOWELL Richard G. Farmer, 84, of Lowell, MA, passed away after a long illness, Sunday, August 16, 2015 at Northwood Health Care Center. He was the husband of the late Mary (Farrell) Farmer who passed away in March of 2015.
Born June 10, 1931, in Brooklyn, NY, he was a son of the late Bernard and the late Lillian Farmer. He was raised in Dedham where he attended the area schools.
Mr. Farmer served with the United States Navy before his honorable discharge.
Richard resided in the Highlands section of Lowell and was a communicant of St. Margaret Parish. For many years, he worked as a Hood Milkman before becoming employed as a supervisor at Raytheon for many years before his retirement. He was a member of the Knickerbocker Club and the U.S. Bunting Club. Richard was an avid sports fan and player, and he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He was everyone’s Santa Claus on Christmas and will be remembered for his reciting of the Night Before Christmas.
He is survived by his son, Robert B. Farmer and his wife, Kathleen of Merrimack, NH; and his daughters, Kathleen M. Doucette of Nashua, NH, and Debbie Farmer of Nashua, NH. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Colleen Noonan and her husband, Sean, of Lowell, Leonard Schuster and his wife, Jennifer, of Merrimack, NH, and Amy Schuster of Nashua, NH; his great grandchildren, Isabel Doucette, Sebastian, Cassandra, Thalia, and Colleen Noonan, Cassandra Jorge, Collin, and Andrew Schuster; and many nieces and nephews.

AT THE MCDONOUGH FUNERAL HOME, 14 HIGHLAND STREET, LOWELL (978 OR 800) 458-6816. HIS FUNERAL MASS WILL BE OFFERED AT ST. MARGARET PARISH, 374 STEVENS STREET, LOWELL, AT 10 A.M.. BURIAL IN LOWELL CEMETERY.
