Richard A. 'Pepie' Chartier
LOWELL Richard A. 'Pepie' Chartier, 56, of Lowell, passed away suddenly as a result of a heart attack, Thursday, December 31, 2015 at Nashoba Valley Medical Center in Ayer.
He was born May 13, 1958, and was a son of the late William E., Chartier and the late Judith (Treadwell) Chartier. Richard grew up and was educated in Lowell, Tewksbury, and Chelmsford, graduating from Chelmsford High School.
Mr. Chartier proudly served with the United States Air Force as a weapons mechanic. He was a jack of all trades, working throughout the Greater Lowell area for many years. He enjoyed watching NASCAR every Sunday, and was also an avid Boston Bruins and New England Patriots fan. He enjoyed spending time at the beach, camping with friends and family and kayaking. He enjoyed playing his bass and having jam sessions every week with his brother Billy.
He also enjoyed spending time with his many close friends. He was the life of every party and always had a smile on his face. Pepie was a selfless, caring and kindhearted man who would give the shirt off of his back to anyone in need. He was a problem solver, a shoulder to cry on and a great listener. He will be greatly missed by all who have had the pleasure of knowing him.
Richard is survived by two daughters, Tara Chartier and her partner, Crystal Spring of Lowell, and Katherine Chartier of Lowell; a granddaughter, Olivia Chartier of Lowell; and two brothers, William 'Billy' Chartier of Billerica and Joey Chartier of New Hampshire. He was also very close with his many nieces, nephews, and many good friends.
Richard was the brother of the late Mike Chartier, Judith Chartier, Steven Chartier, and Greg Chartier.
