Raymond P. ‘Ray’ Ralls
Longtime Active Member of the Chelmsford Street Baptist Church in Lowell
LOWELL Raymond P. ‘Ray’ Ralls, 82, a lifelong Lowell resident, passed away Friday, October 9, 2015, at Merrimack Valley Hospice House after a short illness. He was the adoring husband of Dorothy M. (Harvey) Ralls whom he married on March 28, 1964.
A son of the late Miles Francis Ralls and the late Helen (Riley) Ralls, he was born December 29, 1932, in Lowell and educated in the Lowell Schools.
For the past thirty years, he has made his home on Summer Street in Lowell, and was an active member of the Chelmsford Street Baptist Church in Lowell where he was involved in many of the Church activities. On his own, Ray recorded a tape ministry of prayers and gospel songs, which he distributed to the congregation, family, friends, and the community. He was also a member of the Church choir and a member of the Music Committee.
Ray loved spending time with his beloved wife, Dorothy, together they loved watching classic movies and in younger days, enjoyed ballroom dancing. Before his retirement, he worked in the kitchen of the former Saint John’s Hospital for more than twenty years.
In addition to his beloved wife, Dorothy, he is survived by his sisters, Marguerite Dziczek of Chelmsford and Theresa Ralls of Lowell; many nieces and nephews, including Gail Medina of Lowell; and his many friends from Summer Street and the Chelmsford Street Baptist Church.
He was also a brother of the late Helen Gregoire, the late Miles Ralls, Jr., and the late Francis Ralls.
ON THURSDAY, OCTOBER 15, YOU ARE INVITED TO HIS FUNERAL SERVICE AT 10 A.M. AT THE CHELMSFORD STREET BAPTIST CHURCH, 524 CHELMSFORD ST, LOWELL. BURIAL WILL BE HELD PRIVATELY.
