Rose M. Pilato
"Beloved Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother"
LOWELL Rose M. (Lambert) Pilato, 90, of Lowell, died Friday, June 15, 2012 at D'Youville Senior Health Care Center. She passed away peacefully with her family by her side. She was the widow of George F. Pilato, they were married for almost 60 years, he passed away in February of 2002.
She was born May 20, 1922, in Lowell, she was a daughter of the late Alfredo, and the late Amelia (Angeli) Lamberti, she grew up in Lowell, and attended the local schools.
She was a lifelong Lowell resident, living in the Back Central neighborhood for over 65 years, and was a communicant of St. Anthony's Church. She worked as an inspector for Raytheon in South Lowell for over 30 years until her retirement. She loved to cook, crochet, knit and was also a cake decorator. Most important to her was family and she cherished spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by five children, Georgine F. Walsh and her husband John E. Walsh of Pelham, NH, Diane M. McCarthy and her husband William McCarthy Jr. of Lowell, Joanne Souza of Lowell, George J. Pilato and his wife Lisa Pilato of Lowell, and Jacqueline A. Dolan, and her husband Brian Dolan of Lowell, she leaves one son-in-law Richard Avila of Tewksbury. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
She was the mother of the late Francine T. Avila, and the late Joseph P. Pilato. sister of the late Inez Mattos, the late Alfred Lambert, the late Frank Lambert, and the late James Lambert. We would like to thank D'Youville Senior Care for their love and care for our mother.
