Pauline Ignatowicz
LOWELL Pauline (McLaughlin) Ignatowicz, 85, a lifelong Lowell resident, passed away Sunday, January 15, 2017, at Fairhaven Healthcare Center after a long illness with her loving family at her side. She was the widow of the late Stanley Ignatowicz who passed away in 1966.
She was born in Lowell on July 24, 1931 and was a daughter of the late Walter and the late Mary Eleanor (Fitzsimmons) McLaughlin. She was raised in Lowell where she attended Sacred Heart School, where she was second in her class, before graduating from Lowell High School.
Pauline made her lifelong home in Lowell and was a devout Catholic and was a member of the former St. Peter’s Parish and the former Sacred Heart Parish, and more recently a communicant of Holy Family Parish in South Lowell. For many years, she worked as a cook at the Tewksbury State Hospital.
She was a very caring person and would give up whatever she was doing to take care of family members in need. She loved time spent with family, especially with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Her survivors include her daughter, Carol McCarthy of Lowell; her sister, Maureen Ryan and her husband, George of Chelmsford; and her grandchildren, Kerry D'Ovidio, Deanna McCarthy and her husband, Tae Kang, Michael Brun and his wife Nancy, and Kieran McCarthy. She is also survived by her great grandchildren, Michael Brun Jr., Phillip Brun, Gloria Brun, Emily Brun, T.J. D'Ovidio, and Donovan Merrill.
She was the dear friend, and fiancé of the late Phillip Maguire, who passed away the summer before they planned to be married. She was the mother of the late Kathleen Usher, and the late Deborah Ignatowicz, and the sister of the late, Charlie McLaughlin, Walter McLaughlin, William McLaughlin, Eleanor Luz, Theresa Roberts and Raymond McLaughlin.

HER FUNERAL MASS WILL BE OFFERED FRIDAY AT HOLY FAMILY PARISH, 30 GRAFTON STREET, LOWELL AT 11 A.M.. BURIAL IN ST. PATRICK CEMETERY.
