Patricia A. Teixeira
LOWELL Patricia A. (Hand) Teixeira, 64, of Lowell, died Friday, February 25, 2011, at Lowell General Hospital after a lengthy battle with cancer. She was the widow of the late John M. Teixeira who died in 1997.
The daughter of the late Frederick and the late Kathleen (Shea) Hand, she was born April 1, 1946, in Lowell, and educated in the local schools.
She made her home in the Highlands Section of the City before residing on Lawrence Street, and was a former member of the Veteran’s of Foreign Wars Post 662, Walker Rogers, Ladies Auxilliary. Patricia worked as a homemaker for Intercity Home Care as well as volunteered for Community Team Work. She had also worked for Symphonic and Merrimack Magnetics years ago.
A lifelong Elvis fanatic, she thoroughly enjoyed her trip to Graceland. She also enjoyed Bingo, traveling to spend time with family, eating out with her friends and family, and spending time with her family.
She is survived by her son, Edwin Litchfield Jr. and his wife, Lillian, of Lowell, her daughter Renee Bowman and her husband, Gene, of Ashland, NH; her grandchildren, Jonathan Z. Bowman of New Hampshire, Michael J. Bowman of New Hampshire, and Matthew Bordeleau and Beth Roussell of Lowell; her great grandson, Tyler Bordeleau; her step son, John J. Teixeira of Lawrence; her brothers, Frederick Hand and his wife, Anne, of Lowell, and Mark Hand and his partner, Terence Mollohan, of Raleigh, NC; her loving companion, Bill Burgoyne of Lowell; her friend, Connie Hand of Lowell; as well as several nieces and nephews.
She was also the sister of the late Kathleen Hawkins.
YOU ARE INVITED TO HER MEMORIAL VISITATION ON WEDNESDAY FROM 4 UNTIL 7 P.M. AT THE MCDONOUGH FUNERAL HOME, 14 HIGHLAND STREET, LOWELL 978-458-6816. HER FUNERAL SERVICE WILL BE HELD AT 7 P.M. AT THE FUNERAL HOME. IN LIEU OF FLOWERS MEMORIALS IN HER NAME MAY BE MADE TO THE AMERICAN CANCER SOCIETY CENTRALIZED UNIT, 30 SPEEN ST., FRAMINGHAM MA 01701-9376.
