Olivia T. 'Ollie' (Machado) Pereira

LOWELL Olivia T. 'Ollie' (Machado) Pereira, 88, of Tyngsboro, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her loving family, Friday, May 31, 2013. She was the wife of the late Antonio B. Pereira Jr. who passed away after 45 years of marriage.
Born June 10, 1924, in Lowell, she was a daughter of the late John and the late Candida Machado, and attended Lowell Public Schools.

She lived in Dracut for 54 years where she raised four children. Ollie was the owner of Assumpta Uniform Co. where she made uniforms for numerous Catholic Schools. During the 1960's and 1970's she was employed as a Floor Lady of many various textile factories.

Olivia loved to sew and was an avid quilter. She was a member of the Dracut Friendship Club, the Chelmsford Quilter's Guild and the Hannah Dustin Quilters.

She leaves behind four children, Linda O'Brien and her husband, Jack of Chelmsford, Mary Hubin and her husband, Michael of Boynton Beach, FL, Roberta Martin and her husband, Ronald of Chelmsford, and Robert Pereira and his wife, Marie of Lowell; eight grandchildren, Kurt Knowlton and his wife, Cynthia of Nashua, Christine Desrosiers and her partner, Adriann Johnstone of San Francisco, CA, Julie Gray and her husband, Jason of South Boston, Ryan Pereira of Newton, Dr. Jeffrey Martin and his wife, Cindy of Glenside, PA, Jaclyn Martin of Chelmsford, and Antonio Pereira of Lowell, and Brandi Zeitz and her husband, Daniel of Saugus; and four great grandchildren, Elizabeth Knowlton, Olivia Gray, Joseph Zeitz, and Daniel Zeitz. She is also survived by a sister in law and a brother in law, Connie and George Murray of Chelmsford, and many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

Olivia was predeceased by her sisters, the late Rita Faher, Deolinda Cayer, and Evangeline Scales.

YOU ARE INVITED TO HER CALLING HOURS FROM 4 UNTIL 8 P.M. ON MONDAY, JUNE 3. ON TUESDAY, HER FUNERAL WILL BEGIN AT 9 A.M. AT THE MCDONOUGH FUNERAL HOME, 14 HIGHLAND STREET, LOWELL 978-458-6816. HER FUNERAL MASS WILL BE OFFERED AT ST. ANTHONY'S CHURCH, 893 CENTRAL STREET, LOWELL AT 10 A.M.. BURIAL IN ST. JOSEPH CEMETERY.
