Anna Eileen Norman
ORANGE MA Anna Eileen (McArdle) Norman, 84, of Orange, formerly of Lowell, died June 30, 2008. She was the widow of the late William H. Norman who died March 8, 1982.
A daughter of the late Bernard and the late Mary ‘Mamie’ (McKay) McArdle. She is survived by four children, William H. Norman Jr. of Lynn, Sandra Michelin and her husband, Omer, of Orange, Deborah Stoner and her husband, David, of Boissier City, Louisianna, and Jonathan R. Norman and his wife, Marie (Foote), of Tewksbury; eight grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and her sole surviving sister Mary B. McArdle of Lowell; and several nieces and nephews.
She was also the sister of the late Rose Shattuck, the late Raymond McArdle, the late Alice Robbins and her husband, Omer, the late Attorney Bernard ‘Buddy’ McArdle, Esq., and the late James McArdle.
She was born August 22, 1923, in Chelmsford, and was raised in that area, and was educated in the Chelmsford Schools, graduating from Chelmsford High School.
As an adult, she made her home in Detroit for over ten years, Her and her family relocated to Lowell in the late 50's, first residing on Powell Street for over thirty years before residing at Market Mills. Since 1999, she has made her home in Orange to be close to her daughter.
Anna was a cook for her family’s restaurants before working for Polaroid, Sylvania, and as a cashier for KMart before retiring. She enjoyed Bingo, and doing latch hook rugs, and crossword puzzles. Family gatherings were especially dear to her and she loved to go camping and picnicking.
