Nancy E. (Robitaille) Szmyt

HUDSON, NH Nancy E. (Robitaille) Szmyt, 93, of Hudson, NH, passed away at home with her family by her side Monday, December 21, 2015 after a period of declining health. She was the wife of the late Joseph T. Szmyt who passed away in 1976 after twenty nine years of marriage.

Nancy was born March 19, 1922, in Lowell, and was a daughter of the late Eugene E. Robitaille and the late Mary L. (Murphy) Robitaille. She was raised in Lowell where she attended St. Peter’s Grammar School and graduated from Lowell High School.

Nancy was a member of the former Sacred Heart Church in Lowell and a member of the former Sacred Heart Rosary Sodality. She enjoyed crossword puzzles and enjoyed spending time with her family. She was employed as a housekeeper at Tewksbury State Hospital for many years before her retirement.

She was also previously employed at The Boott Mills, Stuarts and King’s Department Store. She also worked for the Lowell Police Department Cedar Program, and Tewksbury Hospital as a housekeeper and at the oblate retreat house in Hudson, NH.

Nancy is survived by her children, Joseph Szmyt of Hudson, NH, and Millie Kousky and her husband, David of Corinth, ME; her sisters in law, Irene Robitaille of Wisconsin, and Helen Szmyt of Tewksbury; and several nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews.

She was also predeceased by her infant daughter, Joanna Szmyt; and her siblings, Harold, Frank, Mary, Leo, & Billy Robitaille, Fr. Eugene Robitaille, Jack Robitaille, Sr. St. Theresa, and Jean Garneau.

ON WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 23, YOU ARE INVITED TO HER CALLING HOURS FROM 3 UNTIL 7 P.M. AT HER RESIDENCE IN HUDSON, NH. ON SATURDAY, DECEMBER 26, YOU ARE INVITED TO HER FUNERAL MASS AT ST. KATHRYN CHURCH, 4 DRACUT ROAD, HUDSON, NH, AT 10 A.M.. A PROCESSION WILL FOLLOW FOR BURIAL IN ST. MARY CEMETERY IN TEWKSBURY, MA.
