Maureen E. Champagne
LOWELL Maureen E. Champagne, 54, a lifelong Lowell resident, died unexpectedly, Saturday, June 19, at her home.
Born January 4, 1956, in Lowell, she was a daughter of the late Paul E. and the late Helen R. (Kane) Champagne, and was educated in the local schools, graduating from Lowell High School, and attending Lowell Nursing School.
She made her home in the Pawtucketville Section of the City, and was a lifelong communicant of St. Rita’s Church. She worked as a nurses aide at D’Youville Nursing Home and Heritage Manor before becoming affiliated with the Internal Revenue Service in Andover and Lowell as a clerk for more than fifteen years. She was looking forward to working with the Pollard Memorial Library to teach English to new Citizens in the Lowell area. Maureen enjoyed reading, music, going to the beach and liked to work out at The Club in Lowell.
She is survived by her sisters, Donna M. Champagne of Nashua, NH and Karen R. Hay of Methuen; her brothers, Daniel J. Champagne of Nashua, NH, Michael J. Champagne of Lowell, and Timothy D. Champagne and his wife, Patricia, of Dracut; her brother in law, Scott Hay of Methuen; her niece, Krystal Raposo of Billerica; her nephews, Daniel Champagne of Nashua, NH, Scott Hay of Methuen, and Timothy Champagne of Chelmsford; as well as many close friends.
She was also a sister of the late Marianne Champagne and the late Paul W. Champagne, and sister in law of the late William Galvin.
YOU ARE INVITED TO HER CALLING HOURS 4 UNTIL 8 P.M. ON THURSDAY. ON FRIDAY, HER FUNERAL WILL BEGIN AT 8 A.M. AT THE MCDONOUGH FUNERAL HOME, 14 HIGHLAND STREET, LOWELL 978-458-6816.
