Matilda M. Bridges

Loving Mother, Grandmother, and Great Grandmother

LOWELL Matilda M. (Patrie) Bridges, 99, of Lowell, died after a brief illness Tuesday, November 29, 2011 at Town and Country Nursing Home. She was the wife of the late Ralph P. Bridges, who passed away at the age of fifty-four after 35 years of marriage.
Born September 2, 1912, in Keene, NH, she was a daughter of the late Henry, and the late Matilda (Drugg) Patrie, and attended the local schools.

She resided in Lowell and was a communicant of the former St. Peter's Parish and more recently of St. John the Evangelist in North Chelmsford. She was employed as a fancy stitcher for twelve years at Sherman Shoe Co., then at John Pillings Co. for over twenty years, and many local shoe shops for many years. She enjoyed crocheting and knitting.

She is survived by a daughter, Ann M. Sylvester of Lowell; her grandchildren, Thomas and Cindy Pappafagos Sylvester of Dracut, Robert Sylvester of Lowell; her great grandchildren, Christopher Sylvester of Pelham, NH, Nicholas Sylvester of Lowell, and Katherine Huntington of Dracut; two great great grandchildren, Emma and Lexie Sylvester of Pelham, NH; and many nieces, nephews, grand nieces, and grand nephews.

She was a sister of the late Dorothy Marble of Lowell, the late Florence Pinard of Lowell, the late Shirley Paquette of Lowell, the late Francis Ignatovich, the late Howard Patrie, the late Warren Patrie, the late Henry Patrie, and the late Franklin Patrie.
