Mary A. (Whelton) Sullivan

Formerly of Lowell, MA, 69

NORTH CHELMSFORD Mary A. (Whelton) Sullivan, 69, of North Chelmsford, formerly of Lowell, died peacefully on October 4, 2014, in her home surrounded by her loving family.

A daughter of the late Raymond J. Whelton and the late Alice C. (Rynne) Whelton, she was born in Lowell, and was educated in the local schools, graduating from Notre Dame Academy in 1967. She also was a graduate of Lowell Commercial College and went on to receive an associates degree from Middlesex College.

She worked for 34 years as an administrative officer at the Edith Nourse Rogers Memorial Veterans Hospital in Bedford.
Among her many activities, Mary enjoyed volunteering at the North Chelmsford Senior Center, traveling and cruising, attending her granddaughter’s dance recitals and spending quality time with her family and friends.
She is survived by her daughter, Kelly Pratt and her husband, Scot, of North Chelmsford; her brothers, Kevin Whelton of Pompano Beach, FL and Leo Whelton; and her granddaughter, Lindsey Pratt of North Chelmsford. She is also survived by her loving companion, Dr. Alan Corman of North Chelmsford.

YOU ARE INVITED TO HER CALLING HOURS FROM 4 UNTIL 8 P.M. ON TUESDAY, OCTOBER 7. ON WEDNESDAY, HER FUNERAL WILL BEGIN AT 9:30 A.M. AT THE MCDONOUGH FUNERAL HOME, 14 HIGHLAND STREET, LOWELL 978-458-6816. HER FUNERAL MASS WILL BE OFFERED AT ST. MARGARET CHURCH AT 10:30 A.M.. A PROCESSION WILL FOLLOW FOR HER BURIAL IN ST. MARY CEMETERY IN TEWKSBURY. MEMORIALS IN HER NAME TO SPINA BIFIDA ASSOCIATION OF GREATER NEW ENGLAND, 219 EAST MAIN STREET, MILFORD, MA 01757.
