Mary M. DeJesus
"Beloved Matriarch of The DeJesus Family"
LOWELL Mary M. (Garanito) DeJesus, 89, a long time resident of Lowell and wife of the late Antonio DeJesus, passed away on November 2, 2010 in the arms of her two oldest sons with the caring, compassionate staff at Sunny Acres Nursing Home, in Chelmsford, MA, by her side.
Born in Woburn MA, May 2, 1921, Mary was the daughter of the late Antonio and Anna Garanito. She was a member of Saint Anthony’s parish in Lowell. She was a retired seamstress with a warm engaging wit and a genuine caring for her family and friends who will all miss her dearly. Her interests were devoting her time caring for her husband who passed away in 2001, showering her grandchildren with love, and visiting with her friends at the Salvation Army in Lowell before her health slowed her down.
She is survived by four children and their spouses, Thomas A DeJesus and his wife, Laura Capone, of Westford, MA, Kathleen (DeJesus) (Cournoyer) Guaraldi and her husband, Edmund Guaraldi, of Chelmsford, MA, Edward J DeJesus and his wife, Janet (Machado) DeJesus, of Tyngsboro, Ma, and Antonio DeJesus Jr. and his wife, Deborah (Magee) DeJesus, of Lowell Ma; six grandchildren,Thomas DeJesus, Jr of Pelham, NH, Jennifer DeJesus of Sydney Australia, Nicholas E. DeJesus of Hudson, NH, Kara and Krista Guaraldi, of Chelmsford, Ma, and Dominic DeJesus of Lowell, MA; two great grandchildren, David T. DeJesus of Nashua NH and Jacquelyn DeJesus, of Londonderry, NH; and a great great granddaughter, Juliana DeJesus of Nashua, NH. She is also survived by her sister, Judith (Garanito) Cote and her husband, Ronald Cote of Englewood, Fl, and many nieces and nephews.
YOU ARE INVITED TO HER CALLING HOURS 4 UNTIL 8 P.M. ON THURSDAY. ON FRIDAY, HER FUNERAL WILL BEGIN AT 9 A.M. AT THE MCDONOUGH FUNERAL HOME, 14 HIGHLAND STREET, LOWELL 978-458-6816. HER FUNERAL MASS WILL BE OFFERED AT ST. ANTHONY'S CHURCH AT 10 A.M.. BURIAL IN ST. PATRICK CEMETERY.
