Mary (Kalavretinos) Pitsios
LOWELL Mary (Kalavretinos) Pitsios, 96, of Lowell, passed away Saturday, July 26, 2014 at Blaire House of Tewksbury. She was the wife of the late Nicholas Pitsios.
Born July 7, 1918, in Lowell, she was a daughter of the late Pantelis and the late Panagota (Karaganas) Kalavretinos, and attended the local schools.
She resided in Belvidere and was a communicant of the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church where she enjoyed attending Mass every Sunday. She was employed at the Remington Lowell Ordinance Plant during World War II, and later as a cashier at Lefty's Restaurant until her retirement. Mary loved working in her flower garden, cooking, crossword puzzles and spending time at Hampton Beach, NH and Ogunquit, ME with her family and friends.
She is survived by her son, Charles N. Pitsios and his wife, Kathleen of North Chelmsford; her grandson, Nicholas C. Pitsios and his companion, Kristin Hughes of Shirley, MA; and her great grandson, Jake Hughes Pitsios of Shirley, MA. She is also survived by her nieces husband, Mel 'Sonny' Peabody of Tyngsboro.
Mary was also the sister of the late Connie 'Dena' Kalavretinos and the late Peter 'Tyke' Kalavretinos; and aunt of the late Paula Peabody.
