NEW HAVEN - Mary F. (Forney) Burke of Branford died Sunday, January 8, 2012 at Yale New Haven Hospital. She was the widow of James E. Burke who passed away in 1996. She was an elementary school teacher, and had obtained her Master's Degree from Columbia University, and undergraduate degree from the University of North Carolina (UNC).
She is survived by her Daughter and Son-In-Law: Aisha and Sayed Alam of Cheshire, CT. She was then beloved grandmother of: Muneeb, Mansoor, Aziza and Tareq, She is also survived by her sister sister Anne F. Varanay, who lived with her in Branford, and her siblings Clare Hirata, William Forney. She was cherished by nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
On Wednesday January 11, you are invited to her visitation from 10 until 11 a.m. at the McDonough Funeral Home 14 Highland Street, Lowell, MA 01852 (978 or 800) 458-6816. Her funeral Mass will be offered at St. Marie's Church 75 Chamberlain Street, Lowell, MA at 12 Noon, followed by burial in St. Patrick Cemetery.
