Mary Agnes (Caulfield) Recco

LOWELL Mary Agnes (Caulfield) Recco, 83, a longtime resident of Lowell, died peacefully at her home surrounded by her family and friends on Tuesday, January 13, 2015, after a long illness. Born in Billerica on June 10, 1931, she was the elder daughter of the late John and Margaret (McSorley) Caulfield. Mary graduated from Howe High School in Billerica in 1949 and was employed by 20th Century Shoe as a bookkeeper.

She was the devoted wife of the late Albert Recco who passed away in 1985, whom she married in 1952. They moved to Lowell where she dedicated her life to raising her seven children and compassionately cared for her grandchildren as well as many other children as a daycare provider. Mary was a loving mother, kindhearted grandmother, and adoring great grandmother.

The time she most cherished was that spent with all her children, and she leaves behind a vast number of children with whom she has affectionately cherished. She also enjoyed yard sales, penny sales, feeding the birds, shopping, and spending time in her yard gardening.

She is survived by her children, Michael Recco and his wife, Taryn, of Pepperell, Alan Recco and his wife, Nancy, of Litchfield, NH, David Recco and his wife, Lorraine, of Lowell, John Recco and his wife, Maria, of Hooseck, NY, Susan Hardy and her husband, Richard, of Manlius, NY, Stephen Recco of Lowell, and Karen Recco Hayes of Dracut; fourteen grandchildren, Michael, Matthew, Joseph Recco of Pepperell, Jonathan and Ethan Recco of Litchfield, NH, Stacy Recco and Andria (Recco) Quesada of Lowell, Gia and Ianna Recco of Hoosick, NY, Meaghan and Kristin Hardy of Manlius, NY, Jeffrey Recco and Jennifer (Recco) Jencks of Lowell, and Heather (Hayes) Mayo of Lowell; and seven great grandchildren, Richard Hernandez, Francesco and Sergio Quesada, Kiley Jencks, and Jordan, Carter, and Preston Mayo.

Mary was also the sister of Genevieve Otte, Edward 'Bud' Caulfield and his wife, Diane, and John Caulfield and his wife, Gail; sister in law of John Recco; aunt of many nieces and nephews and grand nieces and grand nephews.

She was predeceased by her grandchildren, David Recco and John Recco; her brother in law, David Otte; her sister in law, Florence (Recco) Amendolia; and her brothers in law, Robert Recco and Michael Recco.
