Mark F. Kavanagh, 55, died in Lowell, MA., unexpectedly on Tuesday (October 2, 2102). Mr. Kavanagh was born in Lowell MA, the son of the late Frank J. Kavanagh and Mary (Regan) Kavanagh, of Lowell MA. He graduated from Lexington (MA) High School. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps. A graceful southpaw, he is fondly remembered for his natural athletic ability, equally adept at releasing a jump shot and spraying baseballs to all fields. Mark devoted the later years of his life to assisting his mother in daily life. He was particularly fond of walking, logging tens of miles weekly.
Along with his mother, he leaves his brothers, Kevin F., and his wife Pamela F., of Barefoot Bay, FL. and Frank X., of Framingham, MA. He is also survived by his uncle, Walter Regan, of Lowell MA., and nieces, Kelley and Melissa, and a nephew, Daniel.
A funeral mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, October 6, at the Immaculate Conception Church, Lowell, MA. Burial will follow at St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Lowell MA. There will be no calling hours. Arrangements by the McDonough Funeral Home, 14 Highland Street, Lowell, MA 978-458-6816.
