Maria T. DaSilva
LOWELL Maria T. (Silva) DaSilva, 87, of Lowell, passed away Tuesday, January 9, 2018, at Willow Manor, surrounded by her loving family. She was the widow of the late Isalino S. DaSilva who passed two days prior to their Forty Ninth Wedding Anniversary in 2000.
A daughter of the late Raimundo Silva and the late Delfina T. Silva, she was born October 20, 1930, in Graciosa, Azores, Portugal, and raised and educated in that area. With her husband, she raised her family in the Azores until 1970 when they moved to the United States, making their home first on Central Street, and then purchasing their family home on Concord Street.
Time spent with her family was her favorite thing to do, especially with her grand children and great grandchildren. She also enjoyed cooking and crocheting. She was a communicant of St. Anthony’s Church and had worked at Carol Shoe and Paris Shoe before working in electronics manufacturing. She also worked at the former Zayres Department Store, and Highland Towel.
Her survivors include her son, Joao Manuel DaSilva and his wife, Lucia, of Tewksbury, Georgina M. Leal and her husband, Serafim, of Lowell, Maria G. Brown and her husband, Timothy, of Farmington, NH, Helio M. DaSilva and his wife, Elizabeth, of Hudson, NH, and Fernanda DaSilva of Dracut; her eleven grandchildren, Daniel, Jimmy, Kevin, TJ, Christopher, AJ, Samantha, Jonathan, Stephanie, Patrick, and Jessica; her eight great grandchildren, Alexander, Lilliana, Sophia, Corey, Danny Jr., Jax, Deojenia, and Destiny; her sister, Delminda Silva, Jeronima "Silvina" Santos and her husband, Isalino, all of Canada, and her sister Dolores Bettencourt and her husband, Leo, of Florida; her brother in law, Manuel Luis of Canada, her sisters in law Maria DeLurdes, Mary Grout, Odette Silva, Alcinda Silva and Lionilde Silva; as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends in Portugal, Canada, and the United States.
Sister of the late Argentina Silva, Alexandrina Mello, Albino Silva, and Aldina DaSilva.
