Maria Pignatelli
DRACUT Maria Pignatelli, 87, of Dracut, formerly of Medford, died Saturday, November 7, 2009, at Lowell General Hospital, after a brief illness.
Born January 2, 1922, in Medford, she was a daughter of the late Pasquale and the late Virginia (Tomasse) Pignatelli and was raised in Medford.
Maria resided in Medford for most of her lifetime. In 1995, in order to be closer to her family, she relocated to Dracut to live with her sister, Angelina Polewarczyk, and her niece, Donna Polewarczyk, who both became her caretakers until her death. She enjoyed reading magazines, and enjoyed bird watching most of her life. While living with her sister, she enjoyed family gatherings and events.
In addition to her sister, Angelina, and her niece, Donna, she is survived by her friend Maxine Berke of Chelmsford and her special friend, Richard Eberhardt of Dracut.
She was also a sister of the late Louis Pignatelli, the late Frank Pignatelli, and the late John Pignatelli.
