Maria DeJesus Pereira
LOWELL Maria DeJesus (Silveira) Pereira, 86, of Lowell, passed away peacefully, Monday, March 2, 2015, surrounded by her loving family. She was the widow of the late Francisco Pereira DaSilva who died in 1967.
A daughter of the late Manuel Silveira and the late Rosa (DeJesus) Leal, she was born May 9, 1928, in Terceira, Azores, Portugal and was raised and educated in that area.
In 1976, she moved with her family to the United States with her family, settling in Lowell. She worked as an assembler for Quality Electronics for several years before her retirement.
Maria's favorite pastime was spending time with her family, especially with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is survived by her children, Maria Anselmo and her husband, Jose of Portugal, Francisco Silva and his wife, Delina of Portugal, Jose Manuel Silva and his wife, Filomena of Bristol, RI, Vital Silva and his wife, Maria of California, Almeirinda Mello and her husband, Joao of Portugal, Sidonio Silva and his wife, Isabelle of California, Antonio Silva and his wife, Simone of Dracut, Herberto Silva and his wife, Susana of Pelham, NH, Jose Alberto Silva and his wife, Maria of California, Luis Silva and his wife, Lasallete of California, and MaryLou Rivera and her husband, Angel of Lowell; her thirty-one grandchildren; her nineteen great grandchildren; and her surviving brothers and sisters.
She was also predeceased by her grandson, William Silva as well as several brothers and sisters.
YOU ARE INVITED TO HER CALLING HOURS FROM 4 UNTIL 8 P.M. ON THURSDAY, MARCH 5. ON FRIDAY, HER FUNERAL WILL BEGIN AT 10 A.M. AT THE MCDONOUGH FUNERAL HOME, 14 HIGHLAND STREET, LOWELL 978-458-6816. HER FUNERAL MASS WILL BE OFFERED AT ST. ANTHONY'S CHURCH, 893 CENTRAL ST., LOWELL, AT 11 A.M.. BURIAL IN ST. MARY CEMETERY.
