Maria Cremilde Pereira
LOWELL Maria Cremilde Pereira, 83,
of Lowell, passed away Sunday, March 3, 2019. She was born in Faial,
Azores, Portugal on May 8, 1935 and was a daughter of the late Joseph
and the late Maria (da Gloria) Pereira. She was raised in Portugal where
she attended the area schools. In 1966, she immigrated to the United
States, settling in Lowell.
Maria made her home in the Back
Central neighborhood, and was a devoted member of St. Anthony Church,
where she sang in the choir for many years. Among many things, she will
be remembered for her beautiful rendition of Ave Maria. Maria was a
member of the Holy Ghost Society and the Portuguese Senior Center, where
she enjoyed visiting with her friends. She was a very caring person and
would always help her friends whenever they needed her.
Maria is
survived by her nephew, Jose Bulcao DeCastro and his wife, Maria Luisa
of Faial, Portugal; her niece, Bernadette DeCastro of Escalon, CA; and
four great nieces and great nephews, and many friends.
She was
predeceased by her siblings, the late Francisco DeCastro, the late Jose
Pereira, and the late Odete Alexandrina Pereira; and her nephew Manuel
Bulcao DeCastro.

HER FUNERAL MASS WILL BE OFFERED WEDNESDAY AT ST. ANTHONY CHURCH, 893 CENTRAL STREET, LOWELL, AT 11 A.M.. A PROCESSION WILL FOLLOW FOR BURIAL AT ST. PATRICK CEMETERY.
