"Loving Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother"
LOWELL Maria C. (Roque) Cordeiro, 81, of Lowell, died Monday, September 20, 2010, at Heritage Nursing Care Center after a long illness.
A daugher of the late Joao and the late Amelia (DaCosta) Roque , she was born February 17, 1931, in Sao Miguel, Azores, Portugal. She was raised in that area, moving with her family to the United States in 1970’s, settling in Lowell.
She was a communicant of St. Anthony’s Church and a member of the Holy Rosary Sodality and the Holy Ghost Society. Maria enjoyed shopping, day trips to Downtown Lowell, and watching television, especially The Price Is Right. She also spent time doing embroidery and sewing.
She is survived by her children, Maria Fatima DaSilva of Lowell, Antonio A. Aguiar of Lowell, and Tiago Mario Aguiar and his wife, Leonalda, of Sao Miguel, Azores; her six grandchildren, Steven DaSilva, Sharon DaSilva, Debra DaSilva, Natalia Lima, Sidonia Aguiar, and Tiago Aguiar; her eight great grandchildren, J.P., Steven, Sean, Scott, Joey, Delina, Ryan and Bea; her nephew, John Silva and his wife, Lynne, and their three children, Michael, Matthew, and Meghan all of Dracut; and her brother in law, Fernando DaSilva of Lowell.
She was also a sister of the late Alda Silva and the late Arthur Roque.
