Maria Celina Mendonca
LOWELL Maria Celina Mendonca, 82 of Lowell, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 28. She was the beloved widow of the late Manuel S. Mendonca whom passed away in 2016 after 58 years of marriage.
She was born on December 31, 1937 in Bom Jesus, Graciosa, Azores, Portugal and was raised and educated in her birthplace. She was the daughter of the late Alexandrina (Horta) and the late Bartolomeu Correia Silva. She was the sister of the late Manuel Lidorio Silva of Graciosa.
Maria came with her husband to the United States on September 9, 1960, settling in the Back Central Street neighborhood in Lowell. Maria was a communicant of St. Anthony Church, and worked for many years at Wang Labs until her retirement. Amount her many interests, Maria enjoyed reading, watching her favorite TV shows, especially the cooking shows. She also enjoyed cooking and baking, especially during the holidays. Above all else, she enjoyed spending her precious time with her one and only daughter, Natalia.
Maria is survived by her daughter, Natalia M. Mendonca of Lowell; and many relatives and friends in Lowell.
