Loving mother and grandmother
LOWELL - Mrs. Margaret A. (MacDonald) Michaud, 91, a lifelong Lowell resident, died unexpectedly Thursday, May 12, 2011, at Lowell General Hospital.
Born April 20, 1920, in Nova Scotia, Canada, she was a daughter of the late Alexander and the late Mary A. (Gillis) MacDonald, and came to Lowell at an early age. She attended St. Michael's Grammar School, and graduated from Lowell High School.
She made her home on South Street and was a communicant of St. Patrick's Church. The widow of the late Roland F. Michaud, she was co-owner of Rollie's Market for many years, and was a member of A.A.R.P. She was an avid Red Sox fan and enjoyed spending time with her friends and family.
She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Michael Michaud and his wife, Janice of Nashua, James Michaud and his wife, Nancy, of Merrimack, NH; two daughters Maureen Newton of Nashua, and Mary Cooney and her husband, Michael, of Chelmsford; eight grandchildren; Darrell, Alison, Will, Daniel, Timothy, Andrew, Kathryn and Quinn, and one great grandson Ronin. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
She was the sister of the late Angus MacDonald, Dougal MacDonald, Hugh MacDonald, John MacDonald, Florence Champagne, Annabelle Dunn, Sister Jennie MacDonald, Mary Louise Clark and Sarah McGeown.
