Margaret M. Thyne
"Lifelong Lowell Resident, Beloved Sister, Aunt and Great Aunt"

Margaret M. Thyne, 90, passed away peacefully, with her family at her side at her home in Lowell on Saturday afternoon, March 3.

Margaret was born in Lowell on April 8, 1924, the daughter of Martin J. and Bridget (Crann) Thyne. She was educated in Lowell, graduating from St. Peter's Grammar School and Lowell Vocational School. Before retiring, Margaret worked at Churchill Manufacturing and Hathaway Shirt Company for many years.

In her early years, she enjoyed dancing at The Commodore Ballroom and St. Anne's Parish Hall. She also enjoyed traveling with her sister, Eileen, and her nephews and grand niece. A longtime communicant of the former St. Peter's Church in Lowell, she was currently a parishioner of St. Anthony's Church. She had a deep devotion to her faith and was a member of the League of Catholic Women for over 70 years.

She is survived by her brother Harry Thyne, her nephews; Martin Thyne, Edward Barnard and his wife, Mary, Harry Barnard and his wife, Eileen, John Thyne and his wife, Cathy of Los Angeles, CA, her niece, Anna Mae Saia and her husband, Joseph and a special grand niece, Michelle White and her husband, Michael, along with numerous grand nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her sisters, Eileen Barnard and Mae Danner, and her brothers, John, Patrick and Leo Thyne, and her niece, Patricia Thyne.

At Ms. Thyne's request, there will be no calling hours. You are welcome to attend her funeral on Wednesday, please gather between 8 and 9 a.m. at THE MCDONOUGH FUNERAL HOME, 14 HIGHLAND STREET, LOWELL 978-458-6816. A funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Anthony's Church at 10 a.m. on Central Street in Lowell. A procession will follow for her burial at St. Patrick Cemetery on Gorham Street in Lowell. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, 501 St Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105 or VNA Hospice of Greater Lowell, 336 Central Street Lowell, MA 01852.
