Mrs. Margaret E. Cusick
“Lifelong Centralville resident, 87”
LOWELL Mrs. Margaret E. (McAree) Cusick, 87, a resident of the Centralville section of Lowell, died peacefully at her home after a long illness on Sunday, October 9, 2011. She was the beloved widow of the late Thomas P. Cusick who passed away in 2001, after enjoying 55 years of marriage together.
Born February 2, 1924, in Lowell, she was a daughter of the late Hugh J. and the late Mary (Moriarty) McAree, attended the Lowell schools, including Varnum Junior High School and graduated from Lowell High School with the Class of 1941.
Mrs. Cusick resided in Centralville for her entire life, and was a member of St. Michael's Parish where she was a member of the League of Catholic Women. She worked for many years as a seasonal employee of the Internal Revenue Service in Andover. She previously worked as a sales clerk with the former Bon Marche in Lowell and at the Beaver Brook Mills in Dracut, where she met her future husband.
She is survived by her two daughters, Maureen A. Donovan and her husband, Timothy, of Newton, New Hampshire and Marilyn Barnett and her husband, Robert, of Ignacio, Colorado; her three sons, Thomas F. Cusick of Rye, New Hampshire, James M. Cusick and his wife, Gail (Broderick), of Rye, New Hampshire and Dennis G. Cusick and his wife, Loretta (Scoglio), of Hamilton; her five grandchildren, Ashley Cusick and Maura Cusick of New Orleans, LA, Alison Cusick of Arlington, Brian Cusick of Beverly and Carisa Barnett of Salt Lake City, UT. Her brother, William L. McAree and his wife, Lorraine, of Boca Raton, FL and several nieces and nephews.
She was also the sister of the late Anna B. Baillargeon, the late Dorothy Richardson and the sister in law of the late Mary McKeon and the late Eleanor Wayne.
