Manuel Tavares Brum
LOWELL Manuel Tavares Brum, 89, of Lowell, passed away Saturday, November 26, 2016 at Heritage Nursing Care Center in Lowell. He was the widower of the late Isabel R. (Sousa) Brum with whom he shared 54 years of marriage before she passed away in 2008.
He was born in Sao Miguel, Azores, Portugal on December 13, 1926 and was a son of the late Eugenio Tavares Brum and the late Angelina T. (Perreira) Brum. He was raised in the Azores where he attended the area schools before relocating to the United States in 1955 with his family.
Manuel was a longtime resident of Heritage Nursing Care Center in Lowell and was a communicant of St. Anthony Church in Lowell. He was employed as a Machine Operator at Wakefield Industrial in the North Billerica Mills for many years until it closed.
Manuel is survived by his siblings, Angelina Pacheco, Maria Deus Medeiros, Trinidade Tavares, Maria Ludas Borges, Maria Pimental, Francisco T. Brum, Manuel Brum, and Virginio Tavares Brum. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews including, Paul Ignatowicz and his wife, Martha, Mary Belodeau, Cynthia Smith and her husband, Corky, and Diane Gilmore and her husband, Ralph.
He was also the brother to the late Luiz T. Brum, the late Eugenia Diaz, the late Joseph Brum, the late Guilhermina Silva, and the late Orfelia Horto.

HIS FUNERAL SERVICE WILL TAKE PLACE WEDNESDAY AT 10 A.M. IN THE FUNERAL HOME FOLLOWED BY PROCESSION TO ST. PATRICK CEMETERY IN LOWELL.
