Beloved Father, Brother, and Uncle
LOWELL Manuel Belmiro Silva, 56, of Lowell, died after a long illness Wednesday, September 4, 2013 at New England Medical Center.
Born February 4, 1957 in Graciosa, Azores, Portugal, he was the son of the late Manuel B., and the late Merces E. (Espinola) Silva, and he was educated in Graciosa where he worked as a pharmacist before coming to the United States in 1974 with his family, settling in Lowell.
He resided in Lowell and was a communicant of St. Anthony's Church. He was a carpenter for over 20 years. He was a member of the Portuguese American Civic League. He enjoyed soccer and was a supporter of Sporting. Belmiro enjoyed cars, motorcycles, and Portuguese Music. Above everything else, he especially enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
He is survived by his two children, Eric Silva and his wife, Ana of Lowell, and Amanda Silva of Lowell; a sister, Isabel Chavez and her husband, Edulfo of Lowell; and his nieces and nephews, Tanya Chavez of Lowell, and Ryan Chavez and his wife, Joleen of Dracut.
Belmiro is also the brother of the late Aldora Silva.
