Manuel Aguiar Camara

LOWELL Manuel Aguiar Camara, 93, of Lowell, passed away peacefully, Thursday, October 4, 2018, at Lowell General Hospital surrounded by his family. He was the loving husband to Aldora (Aguiar) Camara, with whom he celebrated their Fifty Second wedding anniversary this year.

A son of the late Silverio da Camara and the late Gerarda Rodrigues (Aguiar) Camara, he was born January 13, 1925 in Madeira, Portugal and was educated in that area. He came to the United States in 1973, settling in Lowell with his family, where he made his home until his death.

After coming to the United States as an immigrant, he began working to support his family in the factory at Commodore Foods before working at Canada Dry for many years. He then became a groundskeeper at Lowell Cemetery for many years before his retirement.

In addition to his beloved wife, Aldora, he is survived by his children, Manuel Camara and his wife, Linda of Westford, Anna Camara of New York City, NY, and Carolina Rawa and her husband, Scott of Littleton; his grandchildren, who were the joy of his life, Kristen Camara, Nicole Camara, Julie Camara, Anthony Rawa, Ryan Rawa, and Daniella Rawa; his sisters, Teresa Veloza of Tewksbury and Encarnacao Maia of Lowell; and several nieces and nephews.
